Meet "Sucker" - AKA...Tucker

Michaela and Montana had been trying to convince me FOREVER that we needed to get a kitten and, finally, in a week moment...I surrendered. We loaded up, headed to the humane society and came home with an adorable tabby and white kitten. The girls made a ballot box and we brainstormed a few names to put on the ballots then, one-by-one, we all cast our vote and Tucker won by a landslide. I think everyone voted for Tucker, except Damian, who wrote in "Bosco" off of an episode of Seinfeld.

Tucker has grown to be the most patient cat. Brooklyn drags him all over the house, with her hands around his middle and his hind feet dangling, poor thing! She pushes him in the doll stroller, shuts him in closets (which makes me very mad! LOL), but despite all this he still likes to curl up with her for afternoon naps. How sweet!

Four Little Pumpkins and Some jack-O-Lanterns

Today we carved pumpkins and the kids did such a good job! Michaela and Montana cleaned theirs out all by themselves, Damian helped Garrett and I pretty much did Brooklyn's. The girls drew their own faces and they turned out so GOOD!

Road Trip on a School Bus...SERIOUSLY!!

Everyone seems to find this hard to believe, but my hubby bought a school bus. He is in the process of having it turned into a "Stinger", which is a piece of equipment that hauls grass. However, we thought we'd have a little fun first and go on a family road trip to Independence, KS. Since we were going to be taking a school bus, we figured we might as well load it up, so here is who went. Damian and I, Michaela, Montana, Garrett, and Brooklyn. Damian's brother's family...Dallas, Sally, Sadie, Brittny, Michael, Solomon, and Anthony. My mom, dad, their dog Libby and Damian's mom. Yep, seventeen of us headed off through the Flint Hills for a fun-filled adventure. Here are some pics from the road...

We visited Laura Ingall's home near Independence and were suppose to go see Big Brutus next, but the bus brokedown...the carrier bearing went out and the brakes locked up. We thought the guys were kidding, but they weren't, so they dropped us off at Braum's for lunch while they went in search of parts. The pulled back up in the bus just as we were leaving to walk to the park. They couldn't find the part they needed, but we kept it running with a punch and a tube of grease all the way home. On a side-note, the park in Independence is AWESOME! It had a carousel, miniature golf, and train rides...and all very inexpensive!

Despite the mishaps along the way, we all had a fantastic time! However, the boys were disappointed they had to miss Big Brutus. We'll save that for another day.
